Comment on some recent postings

Dear All

I think CHILD-MALTREATMENT-RESEARCH-L@cornell.edu is an invaluable 
resource. However, there have been a number of postings recently 
advertising awards and/or bursaries for attending courses or training 
events on which I've a comment. 

Whilst this listserv may well have a *predominantly* American
readership, being US-based is not a condition of the listserv. Lately, 
several offers have gone out and some in fact were available only to US
citizens or US-based people, others not, but *no info* on this was 
contained in the message. It would be nice if everyone would remember 
to include details of whether or not particular awards are only 
available to those based within the country of origin of the original 
message. It can be time-consuming to chase this issue up. Award-givers 
may miss out on potential good applicants and good applicants may make 
unnecessary applications, etc etc
