Of course I am sure that Dr. Garnier will want to answer for himself,
but your question seems like strange logic to me.  If we had a disease
going around, wouldn't it make sense to investigate the factors that
led to catching the disease rather than just studying what other
factors led to health?  Why else do we identify those flu bugs every
season?
