Community Prevention Project

Hello everyone!

I am a program evaluator and researcher at the Howard Phillips Center
for Children and Families in Orlando, FL. The program evaluation
department is currently working on a community prevention project called
"Project Prevention Orange." The goal of this project is to make
recommendations to the Orange County, FL community regarding child
abuse prevention: what are the best practices, what risk factors need to
be targetted, how to address gaps in service, etc.

The project is in its beginning stages. We are designing a community
needs assessment that will rate current prevention programs based on
review of program materials and focus groups with clients about the
programs. Ecological theory is our guding principle, so we would like to
assess how well prevention programs are supporting families at all
levels of the model.

I have two requests related to this project:

1) Is there anyone on this list that is involved in a similar communilty
prevention project starting "from scratch"? I would like to connect with
you about what you have learned.

2) Are there interview protocols out there that address multiple
ecological levels of social service programs?

Thank you for you time!
