RE: women who have had their children taken permanently away
Someone borrowed my copy so I don't have the full reference, but there is a
book titled "Still screaming" about women whose children were permanently
removed. It was a study in Britain.

Subject: women who have had their children taken permanently away
I recently received a request for info from a student that I could not
answer. Not strictly speaking a child maltreatment question, but
nevertheless relevant. Any ideas?
"I am looking for information on women who have had their children taken
permanently away by child welfare authorities. I have not been able to find
any literature on this group of women and I have contacted a couple of
agencies and they do not know of any services or resources for these women
either. Its almost as if this group of women fall off the record after their
children are taken. I want to explore what their lives are like after their
children are taken, how do they cope and go on, what meaning do they make of
this experience.... "
