RE: CHILD ABUSE RESEARCHES, PAPERS, ETC.

You might want to take a look at the work of Antonia Bifulco in London. She
has created an interview about care and abuse in childhood, including
looking at factors such as social involvement, competence, and mastery.
Mastery is particularly relevant to your interests -- mastery is often
exemplified by the child's ability to walk away from and/or obtain
protection from abuse. Here is one reference:

Bifulco, A. & Moran, P. (1998). Wednesday's child. Research into women's
experience of neglect and abuse in childhood, and adult depression. London:

I am a first year doctoral student at the Univ. of the Philippines in the
field of education with specialization in research and evaluation. I am
particularly undertaking a qualitative research on coping mechanisms of
children who are victims of child abuse/domestic violence. I'd appreciate
getting info materials/research materials undertaken on said subject for my
review of literature and methodologies. Am also interested in
developing/validating theories on children-victims' coping mechanisms. Hope
you can help.
