I'm not sure this is a valid way to evaluate the
effectiveness of your training (although the scenarios might stimulate
some interesting discussion WITHIN the training). Your participants will
havea much clearer idea of how they are supposed to answer in response to the scenarios. The telling
factor will be how they behave on the job. How about having clients rate
the profesionals' cultural sensitivity?

We are currently working on cultural competence
training for our line staff. We are also interested
in evaluating our efforts. I was wondering if someone
could point me towards case scenarios, perhaps that
researchers have used to assess worker bias. An
example of a scenario of interest would be one where
the clients race or cultural characteristics vary. We
could then see if worker decisions were related
demographic characteristics. Any suggestions?

Bill
