Here are two reviews of the effects of corporal punishment:

1. Elizabeth Thompson Gershoff [et78@columbia.edu] has a very comprehensive
meta analysis of studies of the effects of corporal punishment by parents in
press with Psych. Bulletin.

2. The second edition of my book BEATING THE DEVIL OUT OF THEM: CORPORAL
PUNISHMENT IN AMERICAN FAMILIES AND ITS EFFECTS ON CHILDREN (Transaction
Publications, 2002) has a new post-script chapter bringing the evidence up
