estimates
Hi Deanna
I'm having the same problem here in the UK! I have found that the
estimates vary according to who is defining the violence and doing
the research, so this is something to look at first, as both vary
enormously. The best guide on numbers was the work domne by
Holly Johnson at Statistics Canada and she has also given some
useful commentary on methods and other researchers in a chapter in
Dobash & Dobash Rethinking Violence against Women. Further useful
info is is a massive book called Partner Violence by Jasinshi &
Williams which reviews American research over the last 20 years.
Also useful was Stark & Flitcraft Women at risk.
Good Luck. Hope this helps
