RE: parenting style measure
Laurence Steinberg and colleagues has developed a measure based on these
parenting styles. I believe they are available in:
Lamborn, S., Mounts, N., Steinberg, L., & Dornbusch, S.M. (1991). Patterns
of competence and adjustment from authoritative, authoritarian, indulgent,
and neglectful families. Child Development, 62, 1049-1065.
The parenting style questionnaire is also used in:
Glasgow, Dornbusch, Troyer, Steinberg, & Ritter (1997). Parenting styles,
adolescents' attributions, and educationa outcomes in nine heterogeneous
high schools. child Development, 68:3, 507-529.
Steinberg, Lamborn, Darling, Mounts & Dornbusch. (1994). Over-time changes
in adjustment and competence among adolescents from authoritative,
authoritarian, indulgent and neglectful families. Child Development, 65,
754-770.
Lamborn, Mounts, Steinberg, & Dornbush. (1991). Patterns of competence and
adjustment among adolescents from authoritative, authoritarian, indulgent,
and neglectful families. Child Development, 62, 1049-1065.

Subject: parenting style measure
I am interested in including measures of parenting styles in a survey
targeted to Vietnamese and Cambodians in the US. In particular, I would
like to include an instrument that measures Baumrind's typologies of
authoritarian, authoritative, permissive, neglectful parenting. I would
appreciate information on instruments designed to measure these
constructs.
Thank you,
