Re: NIS methodology

Three good sources about NIS3 controversy are
1. Douglas Besherov: http://slate.msn.com/HeyWait/96-10-03/HeyWait.asp
2. Andrea Sedlak's reply http://slate.msn.com/Email/96-10-23/Email.asp
3. "Symposium on the Third National Incidence Study of
Child Abuse and Neglect, Feb 24-25, 1997: A Summary
on Proceedings." This is a 19 page summary of a group
discussion/critique of the NIS. I don't think that this is on the web,
but you may be able to get it from the children's
bureau: http://www.acf.dhhs.gov/programs/cb/

I am looking for articles that critique the NIS
methodology. I heard there are some problems with the
accuracy of these statistics, but I can't seem to find
documentation in the library.
