Hello All,

I am working on a project and wanted to know if anyone is aware of an assessment tool that is used which incorporates child welfare and child safety (as a high priority) before placing a child with a relative during the family group decision making process
in child maltreatment cases.

The Child Abuse Potential Inventory (CAPI) may be of use to you for physical abuse. I don't believe there is a similar instrument for neglect, though it does correlate with abuse, but in the wrong direction for your purposes.  i.e. Neglected children are more likely to be hit. "Prediction" is impossible.  I recommend you limit yourself  to citing correlations.

I was curious if anyone knew of a standardized test that has been shown to predict (or be highly correlated) to child abuse and neglect?
