RE: boot camps
Title: RE: boot camps
Bill:
From everything I have read, boot camp type programs for youth have not been effective. I would be more concerned about how this type of environment would possibly further traumatize youth who have trauma backgrounds, PTSD, Attachment Disorders, etc.

Is there any evidence that juvenile boot camps are an
effective treatment approach?

Dear Bill,
There are people dedicated to finding out the evidence, based
within the Campbell Collaboration... see...
http://www.jrsa.org/pubs/forum/archives/Apr01.html
A systematic review of the area has been commissioned as follows:
"Boot camps for delinquents and offenders" (Doris Layton MacKenzie and
Suzanne Kider, University of Maryland, USA; and David Wilson, George
Mason University, USA)
