Description of Duties and Responsibilities: 
 The incumbent serves as a Health Scientist Administrator/Social Science 
Analyst in the Services Research  Branch (SRB) of the Division of 
Epidemiology, Services, and Prevention Research (DESPR), an extramural 
program of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). As such, the 
incumbent administers a balanced and comprehensive grant and contract 
research program in the multi-disciplinary areas of health services research, 
particularly in the areas of treatment outcomes, drug abuse treatment service
 delivery models, organizational theory regarding the effectiveness of drug 
abuse treatment and related health services, and the prevention of HIV 
infection in treatment populations. The incumbent disseminates major research 
findings to the scientific community; organizes, directs, and participates in 
national meetings and symposia; provides expert consultation to Institute 
officials as well as to the scientific and treatment communities; and directs 
the preparation of research papers and monographs for publication by NIDA.
