RE: assessment vs. investigation
Three sources that might be helpful:
"Missouri Child Protection Services Family Assessment and Response
Demonstration, Impact Evaluation Digest of Findings and Conclusions,"
conducted by the Institute of Applied Research. The State of Missouri or
the Institute of Applied Research might be able to get you a copy.
"Final Report on the Multiple Response System for Child Protective Services
in Virginia," completed by the Virginia Department of Social Services.
"Flexible Response Evaluation," conducted by the Texas Department of
Protective and Regulatory Services.

Subject: assessment vs. investigation
I am looking for information on alternative responses to child protection
reports. I understand a number of U.S. jurisdictions are experimenting with
diverting non-urgent reports to an alternative approach that focuses on
assessing service need rather than investigating allegations.
Does anyone know of any reports, articles or web-sites with information on
this question?
