looking for examples of prevention efforts
The Children's Safety Network (CSN) is a federally funded resource center
that provides technical assistance to Maternal & Child Health Agencies on
the prevention and reduction of injuries to children and adolescents. We
are developing a set of fact sheets on the role of public health agencies
in child abuse prevention. We are presently looking for examples of
public health, particularly MCH agency's participation in child abuse
prevention activities. These examples may include:
- programs or initiatives specifically designed to prevent child abuse
and neglect
- efforts to incorporate child abuse prevention into large-scale
programs for families
- collaborative efforts with other state and local agencies including
child protective services, child welfare
organizations, domestic violence coalitions and other MCH
programs including WIC and Healthy Start.
If you are aware of child abuse prevention activities, particularly within
state maternal and child health programs, please e-mail us and we will
contact you for more information. Thank you.
