<DIV><FONT face=Tahoma size=2><SPAN class=382470317-02062001>In California, yes,
if a court has found for jurisdiction and ordered a particular service package
the parent has to accept the the services. If parents don't
cooperate there are two possible sanctions. The first is a relatively
complicated legal process for holding non-accepting parents in
contempt of court. The parent is entitled to an evidentiary hearing (sort
of a trial) on the issue and if he/she is found in contempt, the
maximum penalty is four days in jail, after which the dance starts over.
It's rarely worth the trouble and rarely done. The second possibility is
removing the child. We all know the many drawbacks that option has,
especially if removal wasn't warranted to begin with and in spite of parental
non-cooperation, there has not been re-injury. So , while parents
technically have to accept court ordered services, the reality is somewhat
different. </SPAN></FONT></DIV>

I am looking to find any existing models of supervisory development
training. In addition, any empirical evidence regarding the efficacy of such
trainings would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
