RE: Mandated services for substantiated CPS cases
In Ohio, where Protective Supervision has been ordered, the family is still
involved in any plan or concurrent plans. Here in Greene County, this is
accomplished through Family Team Meetings (multidisciplinary meetings at the
child protection agency). The family is invited and hopefully they attend.
Usually they do and any plans that come out of the meeting are *theirs* not
*ours*. The protective supervision is a given... whatever the family
agrees to do on top of that is in their best interest.

Since the case record must reflect that the family participated in the
development of the case plan--how is this accomplished given the info below?
Thanks,

Here in Ohio we have the ability to request Court Ordered Protective
Supervision (COPS) from the Juvenile Court which court orders the service
outlined in the case plan.

I need to know what states can go to court and get services mandated for
child abuse and neglect cases that have been substantiated but are not
needing removal of the children. Here in AZ families can refuse services and
the case gets closed. A large number of our substantiated cases close with
no services. We think this is really problematic and want to advocate for
change. Can anyone help. Thank you.
