I would suggest using the Mt. Hope Family Center's methodology by Dante
Cicchetti and colleagues. He has published extensively on nosological
and taxonomy issues. He is putting out a special issue of the journal
Development and Psychopathology this year which is dedicated to
definitional issues. My hunch is that his coding method will be the one
researchers latch on to as it's empirically based and very
comprehensive. He's at the University of Rochester but you can probably
find some publications regarding the system in a Psych.Info search.
