in my family violence course, i show "This Boy's Life" for physical
abuse,
"Bastard out of Carolina" for sexual abuse and cultural/contextual
issues, and "Dolores Claiborne" for sexual abuse and domestic violence.
We spend a lot of time discussing the correctness of the portrayals in
light of the research from class.
