A close friend of mine recently killed her six-month-old child and then
took her own life in a county jail.
One way I am attempting to copeJon'a Meyer at Rutgers in Camden was working on a book on infanticide as of a couple of years ago. I don't know if it is out yet, but you might try giving her a call.
with this is to read the relevant literature (I realize I will not find
"the" explanation in research, but reading does provide a kind of
therapy). I have found the work of Korbin, Stanton & Simpson, and
Spinelli to be useful; I would appreciate any other suggestions you may
have.
