Factitious Disorder by Proxy (aka Munchausen's by Proxy) is included in the DSMIV as disorder for further study.  Research criteria are given for the disorder.  This section of the DSM includes a variety of different disorders which have been proposed for further study, but for which there was insufficient information at the time the DSMIV was completed to include it as an official category.  There is a revision of the DSMIV which has just come out - I don't know what the status of the disorder is in the newest version.
