Re: Child fatalities
Lynne
You will find something from the national archives on child abuse/negelct and
also in PubMed and the formal literature. I particularly suggest our web page
for the ICAN National Center on Child Fatality Review at ican-ncfr.org. Look
at the data by state mixing the various data sets and try the links to
states. Reports from states will give you varied collection of detail. Many
include race, age, cause and manner of death, relationship to perpetrator.
Poverty may be missed. Education of the parent is coded on birth certificates
and a few teams collect the certificate. I can't remember any noting moms
education which some studies find to correlate with child development.
Let me know if you want more. We will be collecting more local studies in the
next year or so and will link to them or post them.
NCANDS notes cases with previous CPS. PCA America has their annual study. You
will need to define your terms and decide if you want to believe and use one
system (e.g., CPS or vital stats). What do you wan to learn?

Please could you share information in any of these areas.
