Lynn- I am in the midst of cleaning, organizing my office area in my home.
Will be starting a new job in a couple weeks and am trying to find all those
wonderful articles/studies one keeps for future reference.  Among this large
pile of information hides a reference that may be helpful to you.  When I
find it I will email you directly.

 I know many recent studies have found a direct correlation between abuse
and brain development.  If I remember correctly it was actually emotional
abuse which had the greater effect.  Just being in a domestic violence
environment during certain developmental years, even when the child was not
physically abused, affected normal brain development (as shown with brain
scans, MRI's, etc.).  But I will find the actual research and forward to
you.
