Re: Family Work with unmotivated clients

In terms of recruiting participants, you may want to start by recruiting
community gatekeepers and community members that can assist you in developing
the "juice" that you will need to gain access to the families most in need.
Partnering with a community resident familar with the language and social
nuances of the community can be very effective in getting to the children
and families most in need. You may also want to contact programs that use
a voluntary family strengthening model such as FAST - Families And Schools
Together. Dr. Lynn McDonald developed the model. She is in the School of
Social Work at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

I am looking for online articles on the overrepresentation of African
American children in the child welfare/child protection system. I need
them ASAP.
