Re: Family Work

Andy,

Several agencies in CA, CO, MN and PA are currently using shared family
care, in which an entire family involved in the child welfare system is
temporarily placed (for 6-12) months with a mentor family in the community.
In some case, the mentors are licensed as foster homes. Each family has a
family support team, which consists of the mentor, child welfare worker,
case manager, and anyone else involved (or requested by) the family. The
team helps the family identify and work toward their goals. For more
information, see the fact sheet at
http://socrates.berkeley.edu/~aiarc/projects/sfcfact.htm or contact Amy
Price at amyprice@uclink4.berkeley.edu or (510) 643-8383.
