Attached are two postings for faculty vacancies related to child welfare in the School of Social Work at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.  

The first vacancy is for a Chair/Professor for the Gamble-Skogmo Land Grant Chair in Child Welfare and Youth Policy.  The Chairholder provides leadership in the establishment and operation of collaborative programs concerned with children and youth.  This is an exciting opportunity to work with the University, University units, and the community to provide consultation and to improve communication about the needs of children and families.

The second vacancy is for an Executive Director in the Center of Advanced Studies in Child Welfare.  This position will provide leadership to strengthen the child welfare curriculum in state universities and the University of Minnesota.  The Executive Director will be part of a dynamic School of Social Work with a strong commitment to social justice and public social services.  This administrative position is an exciting opportunity to engage in teaching and research.

The School of Social Work has contributed to the development of progressive social services and has been ranked as one of the best schools of social work in the country. Our School offers an MSW and a PhD, aimed at developing scholars who can provide new knowledge and leadership in the rapidly changing world of social welfare. Our main areas of focus include child welfare, violence prevention, family violence, work with involuntary clients, aging, mediation, and social welfare history.  We are leaders in creative learning ventures such as distance education, having developed innovative course offerings over interactive television, satellite, and independent study.  
We are home to the Social Welfare History Archives, several research and training centers and one of the most diverse student bodies in the university.
