Re: cycle of violence, cycle of abuse

Thank you for your comments.  It is interesting that a friend of mine who has 
spent the majority of her life working in domestic violence made a comment 
that it takes a Ph.D after your name to add validity to what is observed day 
after day but not regarded until the academic community reports the same 
findings. That is not a slam! Merely a comment that research seems to go back 
and forth over issues but the small statistical sample that any one of us 
sees points toward some correlation that as of yet has not been identified 
and researched.

Your words gave me hope as I prepare to rush out the door and meet with 
individuals assigned by the courts to attend batterer's groups. Their stories 
- of victimization - and their minimization of abusive behaviors they 
initiate, coupled with the information gathered by contacting the 'victims' 
continue to suggest ties to the cycle of abuse.
