RE: Parents really do care?

Finkelhor & Berliner have an excellent article summarizing treatment of
sexually abused children in the J of the Am Academy of Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry, Nov. 1995.

"Guidelines for the Psychosocial Treatment of Intrafamilial Child Physical
and Sexual Abuse" (June, 2000) can be found at
http://www.musc.edu/cvc/guide1.htm is also well worth reading.

Subject: Parents really do care?

I'm looking for a cite confirming or disconfirming the commonly held notion
that "deep inside, even abusive parents really do care about their kids"

Also, on another matter, I'd be interested in hearing peoples "favorite"
articles regarding the mental health/counseling treatment of children who
have been abused, "best practice" type articles....

Thanks...
