Hello List Members:
While I have occasionally responded to requests for resources in the
past, this is my first time posting a message for the entire list.
I am the Resource Specialist for the California Child Welfare Resource
Library, which is a division of the California Social Work Education
Center (CalSWEC) located at the University of California, Berkeley.
CalSWEC is a partnership between the schools of social work, public
human service agencies, and other professional organizations that
facilitate the intergration of social work education, practice, and
values to assure effective, culturally competent service delivery and
leadership to alleviate negative human conditions, such as racism and
poverty, for the people of California. To learn more about CalSWEC or
the California Child Welfare Resource Library, go to the Library's home
page: http://www.csulb.edu/projects/ccwrl/index.html. Click on the
link to CalSWEC to visit their site.
CalSWEC addresses its mission through a variety of programs, one of
which is sponsoring Curriculum Development, and Research and Development
Project grants. The California Child Welfare Resource Library is
responsible for the worldwide distribution of these products. At

If you would like to learn more about these modules and videotapes,
visit our online products catalog at
http://www.csulb.edu/projects/ccwrl/products.html. The products page
has links to our order form and ordering information pages. If you are
from outside of the United States, the ordering information page has a
currency converter. International customers should contact me directly
via-e-mail so that we can determine the price by the exchange rate on a
specific date.
In addition, the Library is a lending library for California public
child welfare agencies, universities that teach graduate level social
work, regional training academies. While borrowing privileges are
limited to these people, our holdings catalog is online, and list users
may want to browse it for their research. Over 3800 items are listed in
the database, and about 2/3 have abstracts so far. A word of
warning--the database program has some attitude problems and sometimes
you have to play around with the keywords to get it to listen to you.
The database can be reached at:
http://www.csulb.edu/projects/ccwrl/holdings.html. You can link from
that page to a page that lists the keywords we use to catalog the items.
If you have specific questions about the Library, I can be reached by
e-mail from any page in the website, or you may want to respond through
this list. Thank you. We hope that the California Child Welfare
Resource Library can be of service to you in your research and practice
endeavors.
