I would be grateful of any references to published work that explores the
long term consequences of being exposed to parental violence for children. I
am not looking for studies on the effects on children of being assaulted.

Whilst I have found a number of research articles looking at the impact of
being exposed to domestic violence, I have not been able to find anything
that looks at exposure to violence by parents/care givers on other adults.

The information is needed in the context of a court case whereby the public
agency that I work for is currently applying for a Care Order in respect of
an infant, and parental violence and aggression is impeding professionals
from engaging the parents in work to look at their parenting skills and
their relationship (there is a history of domestic violence).

Any references would be much appreciated
