Re: proportion of prs cases that are very serious
How do you define where a child is clearly in the greatest danger. At our
agency in 1997 1494 children were served at home and 634 children were in
formal placements giving about 29.8% who were in placement. Some of these
children are reunited with their parents so would the children that went
home be considered as not as clearly in the greatest danger? Of the number
of children in placement in 1997 19.2%(122) had a goal of adoption. This
is from a public agency in Pennsylvania. I would like to hear from other
professionals to know if their figures are similar. Knowing how many of
the children that are being served that are in great danger versus how
many are being served I see as a way to examined the effective utilization
of resources. I would like to hear comments on this and how this might
help the national crisis in the delivery of child welfare services
