Re: Maltreatment Measures

Hello. I work for a CPS agency. If you are looking for how CPS defines abuse or makes substantiation decisions here are a couple of ideas. Here in Utah we have our Child Welfare Manual on the web which defines the different types of abuse and what the criteria are for substantiation. Most of these definitions are identical to Code which is another place to find definitions. Most states have links to this on their web pages. Another instrument our CPS agency uses is a risk assessment which helps identify if a child is at high level of risk as the result of abuse.

Hi Everyone-

I am hoping someone can help me. My colleges and I at Stony
Brook are looking for self report measures
of substantiatable child maltreatment. Not something like
the CTS provides, but more along the lines of what a typical
CPS would consider to be abusive. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
