definitions of child abuse for research

Hello, All--
I'm in the process of developing an instrument to measure certain aspects
of the experience of child physical abuse and child sexual abuse, as
recalled by adults and adolescents. As part of this, I need to provide
participants with screening definitions of child physical abuse and child
sexual abuse. As we know, there have been many different definitions used
in the research. Are there any research definitions of child sexual abuse
or child physical abuse that you think are becoming accepted as 'standard'
research definitions, or leaning in that direction? If so, would you
identify them to me backchannel, please?
