I am very sorry for the inconvenience; however, I neglected to include the
ranks for the 2 family positions and for the 1 child development/early
childhood position. ***All 3 of these are at the Assistant Professor level.***
The early childhood education/studies position is Assistant or Associate

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENTS: 4 FULL- TIME TENURE TRACK POSITIONS IN HUMAN
DEVELOPMENT AND FAMILY STUDIES PROGRAM
Family Studies (2 positions). Doctorate in family studies or related
discipline required. The successful candidates will be qualified to: teach
classes in family theory, human development in community and ecological
context, marriage and family, and research methods; develop/sustain
scholarly productivity including participation in grant writing and
procurement; advise undergraduate and graduate students; and engage in
university and professional service. Broad interest in family research
with expertise in at least two of the following: theory, minority families,
policy, research methods, adolescence, parent education, and quantitative
methods.
Child Development/Early Childhood Studies Position: The successful
candidate will be qualified to: teach undergraduate and graduate classes in
child development and infancy, research methods, human development, and
developmental theory from an ecological and community perspective;
supervise on-campus practica, field, and teaching experiences in early
childhood and community settings; develop/sustain scholarly activity
including participation in grant writing and procurement; advise
undergraduate and graduate students; and engage in university and
professional service. Candidates for the position must possess a doctorate
in child development or related discipline. Research expertise in one or
more of the following broad areas highly desirable: child development in
ecological context; child and family policy (e.g., welfare, childcare);
parent involvement and education; research methodology; diversity issues.
Early Childhood Education/Studies (Assistant or Associate Professor). This
position focuses on pre-service teacher preparation and education. The
successful candidate will be qualified to: teach classes in early childhood
curricula and program organization, parent relations, child development,
and professional issues from an ecological and community perspective;
supervise student teaching and field experiences in early childhood
education and community settings; develop/sustain scholarly activity
including participation in grant writing and procurement; advise
undergraduate and graduate students; and engage in university and
professional service. Candidates for the position must possess a
doctorate in child development, or early childhood studies/education, and
experience in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten environments (preferably 3
or more years). Certification is desirable. Research expertise in one or
more of the following broad areas highly desirable: child development in
ecological context; early education; parent involvement; research
methodology; and inclusion.
All positions require active participation in interdisciplinary work and in
building university-community partnerships. Salary for each position is
commensurate with qualifications and experience.
