Re: TBC
Dear Bob,
I am the Clinical Director/Supervisor of a counseling program within the Los
Angeles County, Department of Children and Family Services. Our program,
The Central Los Angeles Sexual Abuse Unit provides no cost counseling to
families impacted by child sexual abuse. Although we do not have a large
number of cases referred to our program for children suspected of being
sexually abused under the age of 4, we do receive some. The low number of
referrals is in part a factor of our limitation of assessing non-verbal
children.
It appears to me that your instrument as well as the CBCL may be of some
help. The fact that is it is validated in Spanish is also a benefit as our
population is about 1/2 Spanish speaking.
Additionally, I am in the process of reviewing and adding to our intake
assessment/validation battery of measures and check lists.
How could we order or begin to use the TBC?
Thank you very much!
Ken Prescott, MSW, LCSW
