Parental contact where there has been domestic violence

In the UK, the Lord Chancellor is seeking views about domestic violence and
its relevance in contact disputes. Much of the consultation process
concerns the law in the UK (and other countries), but a major question
concerns research issues. There is a recognition of the need to collect
data for research, and a key question is what are the gaps in our current
knowledge which information gathering and research could fill. What type of
research is required, what issues should be covered, and what are the
relative priorities in research topics?

Copies of the consultation paper can be obtained by writing to the Advisory
Board on Family Law, Lord Chancellor''s Department, Selbourne House, 54-60
Victoria Street, London SW1E 6QW, UK. Tel:+44-171-210-0642
Fax:+44-171-210-8750

The paper is also available on the internet:

The closing date for responses is 1 November 1999. These can either be
mailed direct to The Lord Chancellor's Department, or emailed to me and I
will pass them on.
