Re: Educational Background and Child Welfare Work
We are about to publish: -
SIGNIFICANT FACTORS IN STAFF RETENTION, JOB SATISFACTION AND STAFF
MORALE IN CHILD WELFARE AGENCIES: A PRELIMINARY EXPLORATION IN THE
PENRITH REGION (NEW SOUTH WALES)
A study conducted jointly by the Association of Childrenās Welfare
Agencies and the DRG Workplace Learning and Organisational Development
of the University of Western Sydney.
Aim of the study
The relationships between the quality of service provision in community
organisations, the quality of staff training and development and job
retention, job satisfaction and staff morale remains largely unexplored.
This pilot project aimed to establish some preliminary findings in the
area of child welfare services in the Penrith region as a starting point
for a larger research and policy development project conducted in
conjunction with the Association of Childrenās Welfare Agencies (ACWA)
In particular, the pilot aimed to consider these factors as they might
operate similarly or differently in government and non -government
agencies. At the same time the project aimed to explore the formal and
informal networks workers and managers of these agencies might be
involved in and their potential role in contributing to the Īsurvivalā
and Īgrowthā of workers, organisations and agencies.
