RE: Educational Background and Child Welfare Work

The one I have at hand is:

Lieberman, A. A., Hornsby, H., Russell, M. (1988). Analyzing the educational
backgrounds and work experiences of child welfare personnel: A national
study. Social Work, 33, 485-489.

It says that social work prepares staff better for child welfare work. I
believe there are more recent articles, but I don't have them handy.

Is anyone aware of research studies looking at whether or not a
social work degree (BSW or MSW) helps child welfare workers to
work more or less successfully within the child welfare system?
