RE: child welfare publications

I know that Child Welfare has been trying to work on reducing the publication lag, which has only grown with the turnover of editors. My article took 3 years from acceptance to publication. I can’t remember how long the review took. I have had positive experiences with Child Abuse & Neglect as well as Families in Society.

My co workers and I would like to submit an article for publication.  Our agency receives Child Welfare and we generally enjoy the articles but we have heard many complaints about this journal.  I guess there is an exceptionally long review process and an even longer lag between acceptance and publication.  Is this an accurate perception of Child Welfare?  If so, what other journals are considered good outlets for child welfare research?
