We are currently developing a book series that addresses child advocacy and its application to education professionals. The publisher is committed to annual publication of books in the series with the initial book to be released in 2001. We are accepting book and chapter proposals for the series which (a) suggest school-based applications of research in the area of child maltreatment, (b) explore activities to promote children's rights, (c) address policies to protect children, (d) describe multidisciplinary collaborative partnerships, and (e) investigate individual characteristics, systemic barriers, cultural beliefs, and societal trends that may be associated with violence, trauma, and abuse. Book topics may include childhood trauma, decision making among sentinels, domestic violence, child maltreatment, cultural issues, family dynamics, brain development, violence and childhood development, Internet safety, child welfare, multicultural and global perspectives, and other areas. If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please contact Ilene Berson, University of South Florida, Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute, Department of Child and Family Studies [E-mail: berson@hal.fmhi.usf.edu or Phone: (813) 974-7698] or Michael Berson, University of South Florida, College of Education [E-mail: berson@tempest.coedu.usf.edu or Phone: (813) 974-7917].
