There have been numerous articles written which discuss the incidence of
physical, sexual, and emotional abuse as well as neglect being is high in
this population -- especially among juvenile male perpetrators (the younger
the perpetrator the more likely there is to have been serious abuse) and
among female perpetrators. Judith Becker, Gail Ryan, Nicholas Groth and
others address this in their writings. There are also a number of references
to the phenomenon of moving from victim to perpetrator by Ann Burgess and
Eliana Gil. A book entitled, "The Juvenile Sex Offender" edited by Howard
Barbaree has numerous citations as well. Hope this helps to start. Good
