Researchers from developing nations
Colleagues:
I have been asked to chair a sub-committee on child abuse trauma, formed
by the Int. Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, and would like to
receive suggestions of members from developing or third world
countries. This sub-ctte will prepare a report for the U. N. in the
year 2000 on physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, social deprivation,
and witnessing domestic/urban violence around the world. It will
include experts who have worked (sometimes under UNICEF sponsorship)
with traumatized children and adolescents from many developed and
developing countries.
If you know of someone who has done research in the area of child abuse
trauma and would represent the needs of developing nations, please
forward his or her name to me, or have them contact me.
Thanks,
David Wolfe, Ph.D.
