The Children's Crisis Care Center in Houston, Texas conducts family assessments utillizing a very comprehensive interview/questionnaire that covers everything from basic demographics to drug use, mental health history, and a timeline starting from their earliest memories through childhood and up to present day. They also utilize two different parenting inventories.

The interview provided a very distinct trajectory of the parent's current situation and was extremely useful in making specific service recommendations.

Can someone provide some useful exercises for conducting family assessments in child protection? I would like to use the exercise as a baseline for a research/training project. Thank you in advance.
