APSAC RESEARCH AND DISSERTATION AWARDS--Nominations solicited



Call for Nominations
 
The American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children is accepting
nominations for APSAC's annual awards, which will be presented at the
Seventh National Colloquium, June 2-5, 1999 in San Antonio, Texas. Award
categories of interest to researchers include:
*       Outstanding Research Article, which recognizes the authors of a
research article or book published in the 1998 calendar year judged to
be the most significant contribution to the field of child abuse in that
time period;
 *       Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation, which recognizes the
doctoral dissertation completed within the 1998 calendar year that made
the most outstanding contribution to research on child maltreatment; and
 
The deadline for awards nominations is April 1, 1999 (Please note:
previous material was distributed with an incorrect deadline. April 1 is
the deadline for award nominations.)

 Nomination procedure:
Please send a 200-400 word letter of nomination, specifying the category
and including the name, address, telephone and email address of both the
nominee and the nominator to: APSAC Awards, 407 South Dearborn, Suite
1300, Chicago, Illinois 60605. Please include a copy of the research
article, or a summary of the doctoral dissertation, along with a cover
page indicating background information, title, institution, supervisor
