Methods to reduce sampling biases

Dear Listserve Members,

I have a dissertation student who is interested understanding the effects
on parents (and on the therapy)  of child abuse reports made by
psychotherapists. We've reviewed the material by Murray Levine and his
colleagues, but were hoping to find a method of contacting
parent/clients, and doing so in such a way as to reduce sampling biases.
Any ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated.
