This sounds like an interesting project.  I would suggest that you do a
factor analysis and you'll be able to come up with 4 or 5 major/general
areas that are associated with the issue.  What you can do
factor-analysis-wise depends on what kind of data you have, of course.
If you've got good data that is quantitative, you'll be able to come up
with the factors, their loadings, and the amount of variance each factor
accounts for in issue, i.e., you'll be able to tell what is the most
important, 2nd, 3rd, etc. factors in your issue.  Again being able to do
this depends on your data, the forms you used to accumulate it, the
reliability of the data, etc.
