Postion Announcement
ENDOWED CHAIR IN SOCIAL WORK
The University of Alabama School of Social Work invites nominations
and applications for its newly established Endowed Chair in Social
Work. Applicants should be eligible for appointment at the rank of
full professor with tenure. We seek a colleague with the M.S.W. and
a doctoral degree in social work or a related field, an exceptionally
strong record of scholarship, national recognition in his or her area
of specialization in social work, and a continuing record of
externally funded research.
The School will provide generous resources in support of the
chairholder's program of scholarly research. As is expected of all
senior faculty members in the School, the chairholder will be expected
to mentor motivated and well-trained junior colleagues and doctoral
students in developing their research programs. Some classroom
teaching will also be expected.
The School of Social Work enrolls approximately 375 students in its
B.S.W., M.S.W., and Ph.D. programs and enjoys excellent collaborative
relationships with health and social service agencies throughout the
state. Opportunities for interdisciplinary research within the
University are strong as well. Additional information about the
