Re: Peer Parenting/Mentoring programs

As part of our clearinghouse (a research/information dissemination unit) called the "Communities and Families Clearinghouse Australia" (CAFCA), we have published a number of profiles of promising practices.
A number of these relate to prevention/early intervention projects in the child/family welfare area that involve either mentoring, teaching social skills or life skills.

The descriptions of the projects (including detailed information on how the projects are based on issues identified in the published literature, as well as any evaluation data that are available) can be found on the CAFCA website, under the following topic area:

http://www.aifs.gov.au/cafca/topics/issue/issue.html#peer

For more information about the clearinghouse, see: http://www.aifs.gov.au/cafca/
For more info about the "Promising Practice Profile" project, see: http://www.aifs.gov.au/cafca/ppp/ppp.html

Obviously, these are Australian resources. However, I'm sure that they will still be of use to overseas colleagues.

Cheers,
Daryl

Hi all ?

I am working with the Division of Child & Family Services to evaluate their peer parenting program.  Although I have found a handful of resources, most are a bit dated and very few are related to the child welfare system.  Is anyone aware of literature that I may have overlooked?  Or, do folks have unpublished reports/manuscripts that they are willing to share?  I?d appreciate any information you could provide.

Thanks in advance!
