Research help
Hello from an MSW student at UNC,
I am in a placement at a county department of Social Services, Child
Protective Services division. My coursework requires that I complete a
program evaluation project. I am looking for an instrument to measure the
substance abuse education/knowledge/skills of staff (primarily social workers)
as part of a proposed needs assessment for the agency as to whether additional
substance abuse education is necessary. I have worked in substance abuse
counselling for 10 years and am familiar with the instruments, both
computerized and paper/pencil, used with substance abusing clients. I would
love to know if something exists for testing workers' knowledge. Also, tips
about where to find research that links the need for SA training and
competency for CA/N workers would be extremely helpful.
I have read many of the articles recommended to those who write
asking for help and looked at the websites and articles listed on this
listserv. Often I forward them to my classmates as well. I have learned a
great deal from all of you and thank you very much.
