POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
The National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center (NCVC) in the
Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University
of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant
Professor position. This is a non-tenure track, temporary grant-funded
position.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The main duties of this position will be to work on a
longitudinal study of families experiencing violence, assist in the
university's Office of Gender Equity, and assist with the development of
the National Violence Against Women Prevention Research Center at MUSC.
This position also will develop externally funded research projects,
deliver patient care, teach and supervise NCVC trainees, and work with
local community service agencies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in clinical
psychology or clinical social work, or an M.D. degree with completion of a
child psychiatry fellowship; be licensed or license-eligible in South
Carolina; have a minimum of five years of post-doctoral experience in an
academic setting; have significant experience working in an academic
medical setting; have substantial clinical and research experience with
victimized children and their families, victims of sexual assault and
cases of domestic violence. They should have a record of research and
scholarly publications in the areas of violence, trauma, child abuse
and/or violence against women, and strong writing and editorial skills.
They should also have considerable experience with teaching and clinical
supervision, and substantial experience working with community agencies
serving adult and child victims of violence.
